Belgian vocalist Catherine Jauniaux had the original idea for this intriguing work. The project was based on the book L'amour (1971), by Marguerite Duras, to create pieces/improvisations in dialogue with the writer's words. For the venture, which began in 2015 during a tour that went through Moscow, St. Petersburg, Berlin and Paris, she called Xavier Charles (clarinet) and Jean-Sébastien Mariage (electric guitar). At La Muse en Circuit, cultural center in Alfortville (France), the following year they developed the 11 pieces that resulted in this album.
Between recitations of Duras' text and vocal improvisations, Jauniaux interacts, dialogues and duels with clarinet and guitar, in an intoxicating result. From the contemplative and acclimatizing opening with "Le Temps Lent", with its whispers and sparse notes, to the touching recitation of "Elle Dort", with clarinet coming and going, contrasting with the guitar, the album operates in a very cohesive way, composing a single piece. The last track on the album brings chilling moments, as when Jauniaux's voice repeats "Ils surveillent la progression de l'aurore extérieure" while the clarinet cuts through the space. Para a empreitada, que começou em 2015 durante uma turnê que passou por Moscou, São Petersburgo, Berlim e Paris, ela chamou Xavier Charles (clarinete) e Jean-Sébastien Mariage (guitarra elétrica).
